A friend once asked me why many of my paintings don’t have backgrounds. I told her that for the most part, it’s because I don’t know what’s in the background yet. This painting began as a study of the iconic Trinity Square multi-storey car park, which once stood on the banks of the River Tyne in Gateshead. It evolved, contextually, to be one of Morozov’s own studies in matter manipulation. I imagine it hovering above the vast tropical forests on Earth Three.
