Owtside

I’m owa tha moon to share that I have work on display in the Promised Land (Peterlee; the place to be™)

‘Diverge 02 (From Coal and Rust)’ is now on display at No More Nowt HQ - AKA Community House on Yoden Road, as part of the third ‘Owtside’ exhibition.

Its an amazing concept and a great opportunity for local artists, and runs all year round - so make a submission via the NMN website!

Of all the progress i’ve made in the past year and a half in trying to ‘become’ an Artist, this means the most. Peterlee was my home for a big chunk of my life; my wife grew up there, we grew up there together in some respects, and all three of the bairns first proper homes were in Peterlee. I’ve always been fascinated with Peterlee’s architecture, it’s community and it’s culture. I’m the son of a Pitman, from a pit village - and the brave new utopia of Peterlee, designed and built for the miners and their families has always been a huge source of inspiration and intrigue for me.

It’s such a privilege to be showing work there; especially this piece - as it explores the regions heritage, decline and future - and a dream to work with the NMN dream team!
